Telegram has many AI companion bots that keep appearing on chat lists such as Lucid Dreams and Blabber.live. These bots run on Stars which allows for seamless features as well as support.
I matched Lucid Dreams and Blabber.live in a head-to-head comparison as if it were a double date. Two competitors but a total of seven rounds with one winner from each match. The idea is to find out the ultimate winner in this battle of AI companions.
Note: Both bots are for users over 18!
Who are the two contenders?
Lucid Dreams serves as the first bot from a storytelling perspective. It is a mini application, and the user chooses at the beginning from different options. The user chooses a character, while the application records 1.1 million registered users in the header. For more details, refer to the Lucid Dreams Telegram bot review.
Blabber.live is characterized as the first one from a social perspective. The application operates like any creator application, introducing characters and permitting users to see the trending ones. Around 117K-134K users are recorded in the header each month. Further details can be found in Blabber.live Telegram review.
| Feature | Lucid Dreams | Blabber.live |
|---|---|---|
| Vibe | Scenario-driven roleplay | Social feed and creator tools |
| Art styles | Realistic, anime | Realistic, anime, cartoon |
| Languages | 6 | 5 |
| Cheapest paid option | 149 Stars (2 days) | 500 Stars (Basic, 1 month) |
| Free plan | Yes, with limits | No clear free plan, short free trial chatting |
Round 1: Which bot is easier to start with?
With Lucid Dreams, you will receive a menu. You may select both the character and the style of play, and the first scene will reveal itself. Blue App button next to the chat box allows unlocking the complete small app if you are up for more.
Blabber.live allows you to access a map of a mall. You will arrive at the Discover section that contains tabs for Feed and Characters, as well as some filters like For You, Trending, and Realistic. This seems great, but there is still a lot to learn.
Winner: Lucid Dreams. In my opinion, fewer choices on day one makes for a better first date.
Round 2: Which bot has the better social life?
This is not in the ballpark. Characters found on Blabber.live are creators. They share pictures, aim at getting likes and bookmarks, and show the number of chats. Aurora has over 120K chats, while Valerie, a bar owner and a former classmate, has about 100K chats.
Lucid Dreams is a one-on-one platform. It is fine, as long as you do not expect a feed.
Winner: Blabber.live. The benefit of this site is the fact that you can easily spot the famous characters, so you do not have to waste time on endless scrolling.
Round 3: Which bot has better chemistry?
Lucid Dreams provides users with story hooks. The characters all have their own characteristics and some basic premise, like in the case of The Dairy Queen. In this story, a car breaks down near a farm, and the character helps you out.
Blabber.live has many tools but no finished plots. You can create your own story using the Interaction style of your choice. For someone who likes having more options that could work, but is not the best choice for someone who simply wants to start playing as soon as possible.
Winner: Lucid Dreams. If you do not enjoy writing stories, it is great to have so many plot settings given to you.
Round 4: Which bot looks better and offers more customization?
Blabber.live has won this round. The site offers three types of art style (realistic, anime and cartoon), an Appearance field of 500 characters and a Description field of 10,000 characters. Each text box has a Generate button so that the AI will create the first draft for the user.
It also provides an opportunity of adding a LoRA model to enhance the images. This is the level of detail that many Telegram bots lack.
Lucid Dreams does offer a special option called Your Character, which allows the users to chat with one of the characters from movies, books or games. This option costs 99 gems. However, free users are allowed to see the blurred pictures, which negatively affects the overall ranking.
Winner: Blabber.live, and there is no doubt that it is the best choice for content creators.
Round 5: Which bot spoils you (and your date) better?
Lucid Dreams contains an Items shop, that serves as a gift center for your character as you can purchase items through gems. Prices include: the price for flowers is 5 gems; for wine – 12; for a plane ticket – 25; and for a wedding ring – 55. In addition to cheaper items, there are some special ones that can be costly but this is where the fun lies.
Blabber.live is a personal albums service that gives you the access to the albums through Cherries. The albums are published by users such as Aurora. Moreover, Premium users receive daily Cherries which is convenient for making purchases. However, it feels more like buying rather than playing.
Winner: Lucid Dreams. Sending flowers for 5 gems can be called the cheapest romantic gesture on Telegram.
Round 6: Which bot gives better value?
Both bots use Telegram Stars, the in-app currency developed by Telegram for trading in digital goods and services. Telegram explains how Stars work if you are new to them.
Lucid Dreams has its prices straightforward. There are plans starting from 149 Stars for 2 days of work to 2,499 Stars per year. Apart from that, he has included some bonus gems. Premium can give you unlimited amounts of power, high-quality pictures, and daily animation for free!
Blabber.live uses two currencies: Credits for messages and images and Cherries for private content. Additionally, there are three subscriptions available: Basic for 500 Stars, Premium for 1,000 Stars, and Diamond for 2,000 Stars a month. The Diamond plan can give you 3 times more Credits than Premium but will cost double amount of money, which is a profitable offer considering how much one might use a service.
The prices for the subscriptions are quite similar (499 vs 500 Stars).
So what is the main distinction?
Prefer to pay nothing? Our guide to the best free Telegram AI girlfriend bots covers cheaper options.
Winner: Lucid Dreams. One plan, one bonus currency and a short 2-day pass make it easy to test before committing.
Round 7: Which bot has fewer red flags?
Lucid Dreams offers two variants. The free version restricts access to energy while also distorting images. In addition, the bot was unrecognized on Telegram at the time of writing, so users should verify its availability beforehand.
Blabber.live has its own distinct features: it does not have a clear free version, presents a more complicated money maze, and has a less extensive community of users. However, the fact that both bots can log in to Telegram and pay through Stars is definitely an advantage since no expensive accounts or cards are required.
Winner: Blabber.live. Being reachable matters more than anything else.
